ACCESSIBILITY
Accessibility statement
What we checked on this site, what is still left out and who to write to when something does not work for you.
Conformance status
microgames.dev is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. «Partially» means something precise: the pages of the site meet the criteria we checked, the games do not. The section «What is not accessible yet» explains why.
How we checked
On 22 September 2026 we ran the main pages — the home page, a game page, the contact forms — through axe-core 4.10, an automated testing tool, and checked by hand what an automated tool cannot see: keyboard navigation, visible focus, heading order, and whether the site respects the operating system's «reduce motion» setting.
The automated check found a single gap, the same on every page: the main content was not marked as such, so screen reader users could not jump straight to it. We fixed it the same day, together with a «Skip to content» link that appears the first time you press Tab.
What works
Text alternatives on images, colour contrast sufficient for level AA, labels on every form field, headings in order, page language declared, visible focus when navigating by keyboard.
If the operating system asks for less motion, the site does not start the preview videos and stops the decorative animations.
At the bottom left of every page there is an accessibility panel: ready-made profiles (low vision, dyslexia, ADHD, seizure safe, keyboard, screen reader) and individual adjustments — text size, line height, letter spacing, contrast and colours, readable or dyslexia typeface, big cursor, reading guide, highlighted headings and links. Your choices stay in your browser: they never reach us and use no cookies.
What is not accessible yet
The games. Every game runs in a graphics area drawn by the engine (Godot, on WebGL): a screen reader cannot read it, the controls cannot be remapped, and the panel's adjustments stop at the edge of the game. Games may contain fast motion and flashing effects: the seizure safe profile acts on the site's pages, not inside the games.
The preview videos. They are short silent gameplay clips with no speech: they have no captions because there is nothing to caption, but they have no audio description either. Every game still has a text describing it.
The downloadable versions. The Windows, macOS and Linux builds are programs, not web pages: this statement does not cover them.
